Entrusting worries to the intercession of Padre Pio
Prayer to Padre Pio can accompany periods of worry, uncertainty or difficulty. In Catholic faith, a religious object is not considered to provide automatic protection or guarantee a particular outcome. Rather, Catholics ask for the saint's intercession while entrusting their intentions to God.
A medal, devotional image or statue of Padre Pio can be placed in a prayer space as a visible reminder during moments of recollection. To explore this practice further, read our article about prayer against anxiety with Padre Pio.
How to include devotion to Padre Pio in daily prayer
A time of prayer can begin simply with the Sign of the Cross, followed by a Gospel reading and an intention entrusted to God through Padre Pio's intercession. A rosary may also accompany the Rosary or personal prayer. Regular prayer matters more than the presence of any particular devotional object.
Padre Pio may also be invoked alongside other saints to whom Catholics entrust their difficulties. Devotion to Saint Charbel is another tradition of intercession within Catholic spirituality.
