Saint Charbel oil in devotional prayer

Saint Charbel oil is used by devotees who wish to accompany a prayer intention or a difficult period while turning their thoughts to the Lebanese saint. This practice belongs to a devotion closely associated with the monastery of Annaya and with testimonies connected with Saint Charbel's intercession.

The oil may accompany personal prayer, a novena or an intention entrusted for oneself or for another person. It can therefore form part of a practice of faith and trust in God through the saint's intercession.

Incense and prayer to Saint Charbel

Saint Charbel incense can accompany a period of recollection and prayer. In Christian tradition, rising incense is particularly associated with prayer ascending towards God. Religious incense can therefore be used during prayer to Saint Charbel or during other devotional practices.

A novena for an intention entrusted to Saint Charbel

A novena carries the same prayer intention over nine consecutive days. It may accompany illness, family difficulties, personal hardship or another intention entrusted to Saint Charbel's intercession.

A novena candle can mark these nine days within a prayer space. A medal can also be worn each day as a reminder of the intention being entrusted. Saint medals are a traditional form of Catholic devotion for this purpose.

A Saint Charbel rosary can connect devotion to the saint with regular prayer. It may accompany the Rosary, personal prayer or a novena. A medal or centre dedicated to Saint Charbel then keeps the intention entrusted to his intercession present throughout the prayer.
