The medal of the Miraculous Virgin

The medal was given to Saint Catherine Labouré in 1830, in the rue du Bac in Paris. The Virgin appears with open hands, treading on the serpent, ringed by the words "O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee". The reverse carries Mary's monogram, the cross and the two hearts.
