Water Font

The Palais du Rosaire, a Lourdes family business founded in 1914, offers its selection of holy water fonts for the home. A small receptacle made to hold holy water, the font accompanies the daily gesture of the sign of the cross, like the one found at the entrance of churches. You will find it in several materials and models, for the home as much as for a prayer corner.

What is a holy water font?

A holy water font is a receptacle made to hold holy water. In Catholic churches it is placed at the entrance: the faithful dip their fingers and make the sign of the cross as they enter, in memory of their baptism. At home, the domestic font takes up this gesture and carries the prayer of the church into the household.

What water do you put in a holy water font?

A font is filled with holy water, that is, water blessed by a priest. You can bring some back from a church, ask for it to be blessed, or use Lourdes water, which many of the faithful keep at home. Remember to renew the water regularly and to keep the font clean.

Materials and models of holy water font

Our fonts come in several materials, from resin to porcelain and brass. Some are fixed to the wall, near a door, while others sit on a bedside table or slip into a bag for travel. The choice depends on where you wish to place it.
