What is a rosary ring?

A rosary ring carries ten small beads around the band and a crucifix. You turn it on your finger as you say the Hail Marys, one bead after another, the crucifix marking the beginning and the end of the decade. Five turns make a full rosary.

The gesture fits in a pocket, under a table, on a walk. Unlike a rosary or even a bracelet, nothing shows — which is why it appeals to those who pray at work or while travelling.

9-carat gold

Nine-carat gold is 375 parts pure gold per thousand. It is a distinctly harder alloy than 18-carat, and so more resistant to wear — a real advantage in a ring turned on the finger several times a day and never taken off.

It does not tarnish, does not mark the skin, and needs no particular care. This is jewellery meant to last a lifetime and be handed on.

Choosing your size

This ring comes in several sizes, given to the French standard. To find yours, measure the circumference of your finger with a piece of thread, then lay the thread against a ruler: the figure in millimetres is your size.

Measure at the end of the day, when fingers are slightly swollen, and check the ring passes the knuckle. If you are between two sizes, take the larger.
