Bible in French with note 20 cm

A complete Catholic Bible, to read and meditate on Scripture

This is the difference that matters to a Catholic reader: this Bible holds the 73 books of the Catholic canon, including the seven deuterocanonical books (Tobit, Judith, Wisdom, Sirach, Baruch and the two books of Maccabees) which Protestant bibles leave out. Its Old Testament has 46 books, against 39 in a Protestant bible, and its New Testament 27 books. It is a Bible for daily personal reading, prayer, group study or preparing for a sacrament. Please note: the text of this Bible is in French.

The plain French translation and its notes

Published by Bibli'o, this edition uses a plain modern French translation: clear, meant to be understood at first reading, without giving up faithfulness to the text. It is a good choice for a first Bible or for anyone who wants to read Scripture without stumbling over archaic language. Its 2,064 pages include an introduction to each book, a glossary and explanatory notes that shed light on the historical background, the difficult words and the cross-references between books. For anyone reading the Bible alone, these notes stand in part for the guidance of a group or a priest.

A binding made to last and to be carried

Published in September 2021, it comes in a soft red leatherette cover that stands up to daily use. The zip closure protects the pages in a bag; the gilt edges keep the paper from dust. A 20 cm volume, 0.800 kg, to keep on the bedside table or carry to Mass or a prayer group. Find all our editions in the religious bookshop category.
