Leatherette Travel Edition Bible with Magnetic Flap

The official liturgical translation

This Bible carries the French official liturgical translation, the product of seventeen years' work by French-speaking bishops and scholars, published in 2013 and approved by Rome. It is the text proclaimed at Mass in French.

In practice, reading a passage at home and then hearing it on Sunday gives you exactly the same words. That is what sets this edition apart from the Jerusalem Bible or the TOB — fine translations both, but not the liturgical text.

A format made to be carried

The complete Old and New Testaments fit into a 9 × 13 cm volume, thanks to thin bible paper and a compact setting. It slips into a handbag, a satchel, a cabin bag.

This is the Bible for a pilgrimage, a daily commute, a retreat, or a stay in hospital. The magnetic flap closes the cover over the edge: pages do not crease and the binding does not fall open at the bottom of a bag.

The leatherette binding

The soft leatherette cover bends without marking and stands up to repeated use far better than boards. The magnetic flap closes in one motion, with no elastic to slacken and no zip to break.

It is a binding made to last, on a book that will be opened hundreds of times.

Who it is for

For anyone who travels often and wants the liturgical text to hand. For a confirmation or profession of faith gift, where a pocket format serves better than a large edition destined for a shelf. For someone in hospital, to whom a light Bible suits better than a heavy volume.

All our editions sit in the Bible category, and our other titles under religious bookshop.
