After months of worldwide pandemic, Lourdes reinvents itself. In July and August, attend the "Bernadette de Lourdes" show, torchlight processions and night masses.

What is the musical Bernadette of Lourdes ?

The Bernadette of Lourdes musical was created in 2019. It was a huge success from the start. At each performance, the auditorium was full. Thousands of people were touched by the story of Bernadette Soubirous.

Based on this success, the Sanctuary of Lourdes had the brilliant idea of putting on a concert of the most beautiful songs from the Bernadette de Lourdes musical.

Let yourself be carried away by the songs telling the moving story of Bernadette Soubirous and the Apparitions of the Virgin Mary at the Grotto of Lourdes.

1,000 people will have the chance to attend the show. You do not need a health pass to attend.

When to attend?

From July to August 2021, you can attend Bernadette's musical show every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 5pm. Let yourself be carried away by the great songs of the Bernadette de Lourdes musical. Let yourself be carried away by the sweet melodies for 1h15. This show will be in French with subtitles in English, Italian and Spanish.

Torchlight processions

What is a torchlight procession?

The Marian torchlight procession is a rite of passage when you come to Lourdes. Indeed, since the Apparitions of the Virgin Mary at the Grotto of Lourdes, millions of people have responded to her invitation "Come here in procession". This is why crowds of people from all over the world pay homage to the Virgin with torches, praying to Our Lady of Lourdes in different languages.

A beautiful statue of the Virgin Mary is then carried into the esplanade of the Sanctuary of Lourdes. This is the perfect opportunity to ask Our Lady to watch over your family, your loved ones and yourself.

The torchlight processions are accompanied by lights that illuminate the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary and the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, whose bell tower has just been completely renovated.

When to attend?

The torchlight procession takes place every day in July and August. You can attend from 9pm for one hour. The procession is conducted in international language.

Night Mass at the Grotto of Lourdes

What are the night masses at Lourdes?

After attending the torchlight procession, you can gather in front of the Massabielle Grotto for a night mass.

Afterwards, you can go and burn a candle for yourself or for your loved ones. To finish this beautiful day, you can go and get some Lourdes water to take home or to give to your friends and family.

When to attend?

You can attend the beautiful and moving masses held at the Grotto of Lourdes every day of the week. The night mass lasts about 1 hour.
